    This makes sense coming from Suda51. I imagine other devs whose games have mostly cult followings would agree as well. Metacritic has the exact same problems as Rotten Tomatoes.

      Was just gonna make the rotten tomatoes comparison. These types of sites turn a spectrum binary. It’s either fresh or rotten. People might enjoy a game with a polarized critical reaction, but when you check metacritic you see 61 with a sickly yellow color behind the number and an opinionated adjective beside it.

      These types of sites would do better to highlight polarized media in a different way, as most really interesting art does not get universal acclaim. High aggregator scores are really a sign of mass market appeal more than anything else.
