It’s not a formality. Continuing Resolutions (CR’s) and especially shutdowns can really affect people’s lives and society at large. People who require critical resources might wind up going without.

It also winds up costing the government more overall to go through this every year.

But… they don’t. Their games are old the minute they’re released. Sure they have enough bare minimum charm to wow the masses, but when you truly take a skeptical and honest eye to them compared to many other games, you realize how lazy they are with the copy/paste approach most of the time, inability to add basic common niceties of modern gaming, and generally lacking worlds that feel unfinished.

If it weren’t for the IP name recognition, most of their games would be panned as meh.

They still have not passed a budget.

Decided to finally go watch gameplay of this game.

It’s definitely a fan ripoff mashing up Breath of the Wild with the newer open world pokemon games.

I’m not saying nobody else is allowed to make these kinds of games. But this absolutely is just trying to rip those off. Looks as unimaginative, boring, and empty as all of Nintendo’s adventure games.

They’ve stolen Nintendos IP of providing half-assed garbage and watching people eat it up.

They improved it significantly since launch. I found myself loving the added features more than expected, like the Screenplay and Master Books they included.

I also loved the full videos of the digital graphic novels, and variants of MGS1, like the Japanese version and Special Missions, all in one place.

And on the PC versions, there’s a good amount of relatively easily installed mods on Nexus that can add a lot of value.

I pretty much replay most of the Metal Gear games every other year or so, so it was just another excuse to replay again on a new platform.

They won’t include Portable Ops, but they really should.

They stopped adding PS3 games years ago right when I subscribed for Sony. They can’t even just get all their first party titles on there. Fuck sony for so many reasons.

I also had the first model. I was shocked that the slightly less weight of the OLED model would be the biggest difference for me.

The screen is very nice compared to the original model, but it was noticeably lighter and easier to hold for extended periods. That alone has helped justify the upgrade for me.

Try getting non-playstation games on your Playstation. What about games from older Playstation? Can’t get most of those on there. And let’s not pretend you “own” Playstation games anymore when so many require online and patches anyways.

Steam is more value for money and improved services and support. I used to be a die hard Playstation fan but it got old being treated like shit.

PS1 launched at $299 in September 1995, which would be about $614 right now.

PS2 launched also at $299 in October 2000, which would be about $541 right now.

PS3 launched at $599 in November 2006, which would be about $935 right now.

PS4 launched at $399 in November 2013, which would be about $538 right now.

PS4 Pro launched at $399 in November 2016, which would be about $520 right now.

PS5 Digital launched at $399 in November 2020, which would be about $482 right now.

PS5 Disc launched at $499 in November 2020, which would be about $603 right now.

Steam Deck all the way. Also Sony’s been shit since at least the 2011 hack.

You can also get PC games from all kinds of sources and sales that ultimately are far cheaper than the pithy Playstation sales. It greatly offsets costs over time.

You also have far more backwards compatibility and flexibility especially to do things with controller profiles and mods, etc.

Steam keys can be found dramatically cheaper than all of that.

I wouldn’t trust Sony to not fuck that up somehow like everything they do.
