Because of in-fighting.
Linux. I know you said that isn’t an option, but it’s still the best option.
And have multiple copies in at least two locations of anything truly important to guard against disaster (such as a fire or regionally appropriate natural disaster). I got a spare drive to copy all the music that I’ve made and sent it to my father in a different part of the country. I could lose everything and be pretty bummed, but not that (without severe depression). I also endorse use of a safe deposit box at a bank if you don’t have someone who can hold data in a different city.
What are you talking about, that’s mine scumbag!
Reminds me of the bash.org Napster entry. For posterity:

<NES> lol
<NES> I download something from Napster
<NES> And the same guy I downloaded it from starts downloading it from me when I'm done
<NES> I message him and say "What are you doing? I just got that from you"
<NES> "getting my song back fucker"
This is great. Just to let you know, whatever decision you make is wrong. Cheers!
A security guard where I work asked me about it. I told him it’s a software project and he told me it’s a poem format. I told him I was aware of the original meaning.
A friend liked the design and asked about it. Two questions after only wearing it three times is a pretty good return for a new shirt. I buy a lot of shirts with neat designs and only a handful garner comments or questions.

Your sister has good taste.
It’s a great idea for the Right! They’re too stupid to notice that group chats are not encrypted and they conspire to commit crimes right out in the open. Don’t take that away from us!
I guess Microsoft is stepping up their campaign against OSS.
/s I know it’s a bad joke. MS contributes a lot to OSS. It would have worked better in the Ballmer era.
I think you’re looking for stone tablets.
That’s the way to do it. Just keep bringing data forward even for media that sits in a drawer.
I’m sure they considered anyone telling them they needed to spend money to be a pain in the ass the same way companies don’t follow the recommendations of their IT departments.
At the project’s official website.
If you’re the kind of nerd who likes wearing tshirts for podcasts and software projects, you can support the project by buying a shirt with this cool logo. I got mine recently and people seem to like it / ask about it.
Needs a longer quote:
Kape Technologies is a major player in the online privacy world, one of the three giants that collectively control the market. It owns many of the world’s top VPNs, including ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, Private Internet Access, ZenMate, Intego Antivirus, and a host of tech websites that promote its products. Kape brands can be seen sponsoring a wide array of public figures, such as Tucker Carlson, Angry Video Game Nerd, Drew Gooden, Lex Fridman, Cody Ko, Uncle Roger, and Ben Shapiro.
So they’re basically evil.
“We are living in an era of tyranny,” Shapiro says in one video endorsing the company, adding:
And far-right shills are mindlessly promoting them.
Evil with a capital evil.
You said it. I spent the first six months at a FAANG convinced that everyone could look at me and instantly tell that I didn’t belong there. Glad I was able to flip my thinking on that one.
We are not the same.
